My Romantic Bedroom Makeover

I am so excited! ITS DONE! I have seriously had this bedroom design in my head for about a year and I thought I was going to burst until my husband and I decided that instead of taking a summer vacation we should put that money into giving ourselves something nice that we can enjoy all the time. However our budget wasn't big and we had to buy a king size bedframe and mattress with the money.

So I plotted and planned and searched the internet and every store I went to until I found all the elements to bring our master bedroom together. We didn't spend a lot, but I really feel like I got a rich look...

My theme was black, white and gray with a touch of turquoise/robin's egg blue (my husbands favorite color) and I wanted to have a good mix of masculine and feminine. Let me know what you think...seriously, I'm not a designer, I just pretend to be one in my head!

We hit Ikea and found this AWESOME frame that I put fabric into! LOVE IKEA!!

We painted the walls "Worn and Weathered Tin"...just a color I picked out at Walmart. I don't mind their paint since I seem to repaint the entire house every 4-5 years.

I did a tone on tone stripe on the wall the bed is on, its very subtle and is the same color of paint just the wall is satin and the stripe is gloss. It looks fab when the light hits the wall.

The bedding is from Kohls, another store I love!

Bedframe was $150 at Ikea
Lamps, side tables and even the mattress are all from Ikea!

Ok, my gallery wall! The middle frame is from Goodwill $5, the two big black ones I had but they were cherry wood I spray painted and all the rest I got for FREE from freecycle...if you haven't every checked that site out go to it! And I just spray painted everything the colors I wanted and put in some fabric pieces that I already had.

I love how the gray walls make the white pop!

Here are the owls I got at Goodwill and spray painted along with more frames from freecycle with pictures I printed of our kids.

The computer lives in our room and the desk has more "design" work to be done...the star I got on clearance at JoAnns $5 and the curtains are Walmart $10 a panel.

I still have a couple small little projects to finish, but I just love our bedroom. Its so calming and is finally a place I want to spend time in...I really encourage people to have a place for you, especially if you have a spouse its important to have a "getaway" and I'm so happy to finally have ours!

Ok as an afterthought, I totally forgot to put a "BEFORE" picture up...here's my before. The bedroom was nice, but not calming and serene or overly romantic and now it is all that! :)
